On June 18th, we gathered to celebrate 120 years of congregational life!
It was in July of 1903 when the Scandinavian settlers on Matsqui prairie got together to form a church. The congregation has gone through ebbs and flows, as people have moved in and out of the area. We are blessed to still be here, bringing the presence of God into the village.
We had a lovely gathering to celebrate. We began with a worship service, with Bishop Kathy Martin preaching. Then we enjoyed a lovely lunch (and pie! So many different kids of pie!) and heard stories and messages from various people, including a granddaughter of some of our founding members.
